CDP and Simest sign an agreement with Apix to strengthen business cooperation.

Cassa Depositi e Prestiti and Simest today signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Senegalese National Agency for the Promotion of Investments and Major Projects (APIX) to facilitate collaboration between companies from the two countries and promote joint investments. CDP reported in a press release, specifying that the agreement was signed during the Italy-Senegal Business Forum organized in Dakar by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Italian Trade Agency (ICE), in collaboration with Confindustria Assafrica & Mediterraneo. Promoting economic cooperation between Italy and Senegal and fostering sustainable growth through collaboration between companies from the two countries and the promotion of joint investments are the primary objectives of the Memorandum of Understanding. The forum, held today in Senegal, was an initiative led by the Vice President of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs. Antonio Tajani, brought together companies, institutions and production associations from the two countries interested in exploring new opportunities for industrial and commercial collaboration.

The memorandum was signed by the head of the International Market Development section of CDP, Laurent Franciosi, from the CEO of Simest Queen Corradini of Arienzo and by the general manager of Apix Bakary Séga Bathily, lays the foundation for structured cooperation between the three institutions to benefit strategic sectors such as infrastructure, energy and energy transition, agribusiness, and mechanical engineering. The agreement also provides for the promotion of joint activities such as business missions, workshops, and B2B meetings, including through CDP’s Business Matching platform, with the aim of facilitating meetings between Italian and Senegalese companies. Among the areas of collaboration identified, particular attention is given to promoting financial solutions to support trade relations and bilateral investments. The agreement, CDP writes, represents a concrete step towards strengthening dialogue between Italy and Senegal, within the framework of the Export Plan implemented by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and international cooperation with the Italian system, with the aim of generating mutual benefits for businesses and contributing to the sustainable growth of both countries.
