Responsibilities:
• Support the development and maintenance of regulatory processes to meet requirements set out by the OEB, IESO, and Ministry of Energy.
• Prepare, maintain, and submit regulatory reporting and record keeping requirements.
• Maintain internal records of regulatory information.
• Coordinate schedules, analysis, and financial information for rate applications to the OEB.
• Assist with additional regulatory filings and communications.
• Provide support to the billing function related to rates and implementation of approved rates.
Financial Planning & Reporting
• Develop, maintain, and enhance organizational budgets, forecasts, and reporting processes.
• Maintain ongoing reporting tools to track financial performance versus budget.
• Enhance long range financial planning activities.
Management Reporting & Analysis
• Use cross departmental input to develop and refine management reporting that enables fact based financial decision making.
• Provide financial analysis and ad hoc reporting support to operating and administrative departments.
• Apply accounting principles to analyze financial operations.
Leadership & Collaboration
• Collaborate with the Business Systems Analyst to develop reporting tools and improve use of financial information systems.
• Build effective working relationships with staff, management, external agencies, and the public.
Other Responsibilities
• Support strategic planning, corporate objectives, and reporting.
• Monitor revenue accounts to ensure rate sufficiency.
• Provide regulatory input on corporate opportunities and expansion initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable safety, environmental, legislative, and company policies.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Professional Accounting designation (CPA) considered an asset.
• 3–5 years of experience in accounting, auditing, or financial analysis.
• Knowledge of IESO and OEB rules, codes, and regulations is an asset.
• Strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint), with advanced ability in Microsoft Excel and analytics/reporting tools.
• Highly organized, self directed, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a deadline driven environment.
